Quincy Coders 2024 Summer STEM Program

Quincy Coders is excited to launch a summer STEM program and partner with BCNC and ASOST-S/UWMB to offer additional resources! This will continue along the lines of our mission to be a peer-based learning program with an emphasis on creativity, exploration, collaboration and teamwork. Our expanded STEM program will not only include Scratch, but also introduce 3D printing and electronics using Micro:bit. Also, unlike our current one-hour long sessions, this will be a 5-hours drop-off program Monday to Friday from 9am-2pm for 6 consecutive weeks. This is a unique opportunity for children to be working hands-on with their peers to learn and create projects using both software and hardware.

This immersive program is only available to children who are already currently attending Grades 4+. There will be limited spaces and will be prioritized to children who are currently enrolled or have attended our regular sessions.

Program Details:

• 22 July to 30 August (6 weeks); Mon-Fri: 9am-2pm

• $1,800 for the full 6 weeks: Enrolling current Grades 4-8

• STEM FOCUSED: Scratch, 3D design/printing and Micro:bit, along with other academic and group activities

• Location: 1458 Hancock St #306, Quincy, MA 02169

• Supervising adults are SORI/CORI checked

• Early payment/sibling discounts offered

• Financial Aid Assistance based on sliding scale of family's gross household income 

REQUIREMENTS/NOTES FOR PARTICIPANTS:

• Child must currently already be attending Grade 4+

• Child must bring a fully charged laptop and charger daily (a windows laptop is highly recommended as Chromebooks are not ideal. IPads are NOT supported.)

• Families are responsible to bring any snacks, water, and a well-packed lunch which does not require heating/refrigeration

• A child's health form will also need to be completed by 30 June (upon successful enrollment, health forms will be emailed out). If your child has any particular medical needs, please be aware that we will not have any medically qualified personnel on site at the program.
